The serious incident that unfolded on Wednesday morning in Larnaca has taken a tragic turn, as one of the three injured individuals has succumbed to his injuries.
The man had been hospitalised in critical condition at Larnaca General Hospital with a severe head injury after falling from a multi‑storey building in the city centre.
According to information so far, the three men are believed to have jumped from a balcony in an attempt to avoid arrest during checks carried out by members of the Aliens and Immigration Service at the “Filanta” building, a nine‑storey apartment block where, according to reports, a large number of foreign nationals reside.
The two other injured individuals remain in hospital, but their condition is not considered life‑threatening.
