The Ukrainian army struck the oil terminal in St Petersburg in Russia overnight, at a distance of about 1,100 kilometres from the Ukrainian border, President Volodymyr Zelensky said today.
Zelensky also said in a post on Telegram that “purely” military targets were hit at the Kronstadt base, while another target was a facility in Russia’s Tambov region linked to weapons production, around 600 kilometres from the front line.

Thick grey smoke rose into the sky on the outskirts of St Petersburg following an overnight Ukrainian drone attack, eyewitnesses said today. The city today hosts the start of Russia’s annual economic forum, where President Vladimir Putin is expected to attend.
St Petersburg governor Alexander Beglov said that “infrastructure” was hit in three areas of the city, without specifying further.

Ukrainian drone strike on bus near Donetsk
A Ukrainian drone strike on a bus operating between Moscow and Simferopol in Russian annexed Crimea killed seven people and injured eleven, authorities in the Russian controlled Donetsk region where the attack took place said today.
“In Yenakiieve, a drone struck a Moscow Simferopol bus. According to preliminary information, seven civilians were killed. Eleven others suffered injuries and are receiving necessary care,” Denis Pushilin, head of the local administration appointed by Russia, wrote on Telegram.
Russia’s Investigative Committee has launched a criminal investigation for a “terrorist attack,” the TASS news agency reported, citing the committee’s spokesperson Svetlana Petrenko.
According to the Russian defence ministry, 354 Ukrainian drones were shot down overnight over Russia. The governor of Russia’s Leningrad region, Alexander Drozdenko, said that 50 drones were shot down in that region alone.
In Ukraine, in the southern city of Kherson, an 86 year old woman was killed in a Russian drone attack, according to the head of the local military administration Yaroslav Shanko.
