UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said on Tuesday he is determined to act in order to restart negotiations on the Cyprus problem.
“I’m not pessimistic. I’m not just optimistic. I’m determined to restart the talks,”
Guterres was responding to a question from the Cyprus News Agency during a press briefing ahead of the upcoming High-Level Week at UN headquarters in New York.
The Secretary-General also confirmed that he will meet with the leaders of both sides on the sidelines of the General Assembly session.
