A vessel that had participated in a flotilla carrying humanitarian aid to Gaza remains docked at Ayia Napa Marina due to a mechanical issue, local authorities confirmed.

The Summertime Jong has been moored at the marina since the afternoon of Friday, 3 October, after experiencing an engine malfunction. According to the marina’s management, the vessel is still out of service and remains under inspection.

Marina officials told the Cyprus News Agency (CNA) that full assistance will be provided to the vessel and its occupants, including accommodation support and help with repairs.

On Monday, technicians from Ayia Napa Marina are expected to examine the vessel, with engineers due to be brought in to diagnose and fix the fault.

When the boat arrived, it was carrying 11 individuals. Four have since departed Cyprus, while the remaining seven are staying on until the vessel is repaired and ready to resume its journey.
