Attorney General George L. Savvides said on Tuesday that three investigations conducted by the Independent Authority against Corruption have either been handed over to the Police or will be transferred imminently, all under the direction of the Legal Service.

He noted that the first case, involving a political figure, has already been forwarded to the Police for specific investigative actions. The Legal Service is awaiting the outcome before determining next steps.

The second case, concerning an official of the Nicosia Water Supply Board, was sent to the Police before the end of November with instructions to proceed with a full inquiry.

The third case, linked to Trimiklini, is expected to be delivered to the Police within days. Authorities will assess whether the Authority’s findings warrant an expansion of the ongoing police investigation.

Savvides clarified that aside from the imminent transmission of the third case, no other matters related to the Authority’s investigations are pending before the Legal Service.
