Prominent members of the Cypriot diaspora were honoured last night by President Nikos Christodoulides for their enduring service to the homeland and to society more broadly. The recognition took place during a reception held in honour of the delegates of the World Conference of Overseas Cypriots.
President Christodoulides presented the Medal of Distinguished Service to eight distinguished compatriots who, as he noted in his address, “stood out for their integrity, their dedication, and their lasting contribution to progress and the common good.”
“Your valuable contribution to our homeland, to the Republic of Cyprus, to Hellenism in Cyprus, will forever enjoy the deep and genuine gratitude of the state, of the Cypriot people as a whole, and of myself personally,” the President said.

- Kyriakos Akathiotis

- Athena Charalambidou

- Nestor Nestoros

- Andreas Savva Demetriou

- The late Christina Charalambous (the award was presented to Dr Andreas Evdokios on her behalf)
