Cypriot dancer Aristotelis Valaoritis has once again broken his own Guinness World Record, this time managing to balance 511 wine glasses on his head, a feat that surpassed his previous mark of 319 glasses.
Valaoritis achieved the new record in July 2025, securing the Guinness title for “Most Wine Glasses Balanced on the Head.” As he told the Cyprus News Agency (CNA), none of his records listed in the Guinness database have ever been surpassed by others.
In total, he has secured five Guinness records. Speaking about his latest accomplishment, Valaoritis explained that the enormous weight of the glasses required the assistance of a forklift to carefully place the towering structure on his head. He then held balance for more than 10 seconds, as stipulated by Guinness regulations.
The combined weight of the 511 glasses, and the tower they formed, reached 72.5 kilograms. He also emphasized that, under Guinness rules, the category requires balancing at least 170 glasses. 169 does not qualify.
Asked to elaborate on the “Most Wine Glasses Balanced on the Head” category, Valaoritis clarified that it is a completely distinct and newly established record, separate from the “Strength and Balance” titles he had set in 1997.
In closing, he stressed that he deserves respect from fellow “glass dancers” who, as he put it, spread misinformation by claiming to have broken his record.
