The Cyprus Footballers Association (PASP) announced on Friday that as of the new year, all its registered members will enjoy 100% free legal services.
This coverage includes full legal representation in matters relating to contracts and employment disputes for legal cases both in Cyprus and abroad, with no cost whatsoever, regardless of the outcome.
According to PASP, this initiative may constitute the largest benefit ever offered by the association to its members, reaffirming its commitment to defending the rights of professional footballers, both men and women.
By providing comprehensive legal support to its members, the Association says it strengthens its institutional role and ensures that footballers can focus on their professional careers, with complete confidence that their rights are being effectively protected.
PASP represents both local and foreign footballers employed in Cyprus and its membership is open to footballers from all leagues, provided they are registered and active in Cyprus.
It is an official member of FIFPRO, the World Players’ Union, which represents more than 70,000 footballers, including names such as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
In recent years, PASP has achieved several objectives, including implementation of minimum standards in professional player contracts, and legislative amendments ensuring equal benefits for men and women at the national team level.
