Brothers Wanted for Attempted Murder Arrested at British Bases

Warning shots were fired as they attempted to flee by boat

Two brothers wanted for the attempted murder of a 36-year-old Syrian man on Saturday 20 December on Independence Street in Limassol were arrested by authorities from the British Bases in the Dhekelia area, with assistance from the Cyprus Port Police.

The two foreign nationals were reportedly attempting to leave the country and were located on a boat. Warning shots were fired during their arrest.

Following their detention, procedures are expected to transfer them from the British Bases to the Republic of Cyprus, specifically to the Limassol Police, where they will face court.
