Five Arrests After Violent Incident in Larnaca

Police have arrested five people in connection with a violent incident involving a fight and the firing of shots in Larnaca.

According to police, the individuals were wanted to assist with investigations into the incident, which took place on Saturday.

Authorities said the five suspects will appear before the Larnaca District Court on Tuesday. Police will request detention orders to continue questioning.

Police also confirmed that three more people are still being sought in connection with the same case. The incident under investigation involves a clash and the discharge of firearms. No further details have been released about injuries or damage.

The case includes the investigation of multiple suspected offences. These include conspiracy to commit a felony and conspiracy to commit a misdemeanour. Police are also examining alleged offences relating to the illegal possession and transport of firearms and explosive materials.

Other allegations include extortion, demanding property with threats, and participation in a criminal organisation.

The list of suspected offences also includes assault causing grievous bodily harm, threats, possession of an offensive weapon, carrying a knife, and carrying weapons with intent to cause fear.

Police said investigations are ongoing.
