Drama International Short Film Festival travels to Cyprus

The Drama International Short Film Festival returns to Cyprus for another year, inviting local cinephiles to discover a curated selection of contemporary short films. Widely regarded as Greece’s leading short film festival, the event takes place every September in the city of Drama and tours across Greece, Cyprus and internationally, showcasing and supporting the work of emerging filmmakers.

Hosting and partners

The Cyprus screenings are hosted by the Department of Contemporary Culture of the Deputy Ministry of CultureRialto Theatre and the Festival itself, in collaboration with the Nicosia Film Club, the Paphos Cultural Centre, and the Film Clubs of Larnaca and Limassol.

Guests and filmmakers

As part of the Festival’s Cyprus tour, representatives of the Drama Festival and participating filmmakers will attend the screenings and engage in discussions with the audience.

This year’s guests include the Festival’s artistic director Giorgos Angelopoulos, director Dimitris Moutsiakas (Gekas), and director Thelgia Petraki (400 cassettes).

The programme also features the Cypriot short film Requiem in salt by Sylvia Nikolaidi and Nicolas Iordanou.
