If you are looking for a different way to spend Boxing Day and the day after, the village of Kathikas is setting the table. On December 26 and 27, its central square will transform into a celebration of Cypriot wine, local hospitality and seasonal atmosphere, offering free wine tastings for all visitors.

From 4:00pm to 8:30pm, locals, visitors and curious road-trippers are invited to gather in the heart of the village for a relaxed, festive encounter with some of the region’s most recognisable wineries. Vasilikon WinerySterna Boutique Winery and SODAP join forces, pouring their wines freely and sharing stories behind the grape varieties and flavours of the area.

A village dressed for Christmas

Kathikas will be at its most welcoming, dressed in festive lights and decorations, with music filling the square and small corners inviting visitors to slow down and enjoy the moment. It is the kind of setting villages do best: informal, warm and genuinely open.

The Christmas Wine Celebration offers an easy excuse for a short winter road trip through the Paphos countryside, ending with good wine, conversation and a reminder that some of the best festive moments happen far from shopping centres and schedules.

One important reminder

Wine may be free, but responsibility is essential. Make sure a designated driver is part of your group so everyone enjoys the evening safely and returns home without risk.
