The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is maintaining its travel advisory for the region, urging the public to follow official guidance while confirming that travel is not restricted.

Constantinos Kombos called on citizens to monitor and follow the ministry’s travel advisories, noting that these are based on ongoing assessments of developments in the Middle East.

His remarks came in response to questions about travel to Dubai, where Cypriot travellers continue to book trips despite the advisory in place. According to information conveyed through official channels, the guidance does not constitute a ban, and that citizens may still travel, provided they take the advisory into account.

Sources familiar with the ministry’s approach say the advisory system is designed to inform rather than impose restrictions, allowing individuals to make their own decisions based on the available information. They also point to a broader emphasis within government communication on avoiding unnecessary alarm, while encouraging awareness and personal responsibility.

Travel industry sources, meanwhile, report that booking patterns for Dubai remain stable, with no notable increase in demand observed in recent days.

Flights between Cyprus and the UAE continue to operate, and travel activity remains ongoing, as the ministry keeps its guidance under constant review in line with regional developments.
