Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos travels to Washington to participate on Thursday in the Board of Peace council for Gaza, following an invitation extended to Cyprus in an observer capacity.

According to a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the council is expected to examine the next steps for the implementation of the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Agreement, as well as a plan proposed by US President Donald Trump and adopted by the United Nations Security Council under Resolution 2803.

The ministry notes that Cyprus’ participation reflects the active role it has maintained since the beginning of the crisis, including through diplomatic initiatives and specific proposals, as well as its broader contribution to international and regional efforts aimed at enhancing security and stability in the Middle East.
