Flight cancellations have been recorded at Cyprus airports following the launch of military operations by the United States and Israel against Iran.

According to Hermes Airports, which manages the island’s two international airports, 250 passengers have been affected so far.

At Larnaca International Airport, all flights to and from Israel have been cancelled. At Paphos International Airport, cancellations include services operated by Air Haifa and Ryanair on the Paphos–Amman route.

Earlier this morning, a Wizz Air flight departed Larnaca for Tel Aviv at 7:35am. The aircraft later returned to Cyprus. The reason for the turnaround was not officially stated, but it followed the escalation in the region.

Further cancellations were confirmed at Larnaca. The scheduled arrival of a Wizz Air flight from Tel Aviv at 1:20pm was cancelled. Two departures were also cancelled: a Wizz Air flight to Abu Dhabi due at 2:25pm, and a Sun d'Or service to Tel Aviv scheduled for 8:55pm.

For tomorrow, the arrival of a TUS Airways flight from Israel at 7:05pm has been cancelled. The airline’s scheduled departure to Israel at 12 noon has also been called off.

At Paphos, the arrival of an Air Haifa flight from Haifa scheduled for 4:00pm today was cancelled. The airline’s return service at 4:55pm was also cancelled.

In addition to cancellations, two Wizz Air flights were diverted to Larnaca. The affected routes were Budapest–Amman and Sofia–Tel Aviv. Passengers disembarked at Larnaca and are expected to return to Budapest and Sofia respectively.

Hermes Airports has advised passengers to contact their airline or travel agent before travelling to the airport.
