Forest Fire Near Psevdas Brought Under Full Control
The blaze, which broke out at 12:30pm, burned around two donums of dry grass and crops before being contained in just 20 minutes.
A forest fire that broke out at midday within the administrative boundaries of the Psevdas community was brought under full control within just 20 minutes.
How it unfolded
According to a Forestry Department announcement, the fire broke out at 12:30pm within the administrative boundaries of the Psevdas community.
The statement noted that "the fire was brought under full control at 12:50pm, after burning an area of two donums of dry grass and agricultural crops."
Firefighting response
The firefighting operation involved 12 members of the Forestry Department with 4 fire engines. The Fire Service also assisted with 3 personnel and 1 fire engine, along with 2 members of the Psevdas Community Council with 1 fire engine, and a private agricultural tractor.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.

A new fire incident broke out around midday near the community of Psevdas.
Large forces from the Forestry Department were mobilised to fight the blaze, with assistance also requested from the Fire Service.
According to initial information from the Forestry Department, the fire has been brought under control.
