Iran's military announced on Sunday that it is offering a reward equivalent to $30,000 to anyone who kills or captures a US soldier. The reward is doubled for a woman who kills or captures a US soldier.

Amir Hatami, Chief of the General Staff of the Iranian Army, said the measure was decided following "a large number of requests" from people wishing to contribute financially, according to the IRNA news agency.
"Anyone who kills or captures and hands over an invading American military member to the army of the Islamic Republic will receive a reward equivalent to $30,000, or five billion tomans," Hatami said, using the informal currency unit equivalent to 10,000 Iranian rials.
"Invader" framing
Hatami used the term "invader" to indicate that the scenario involves a violation of Iranian territory. Aside from a rescue mission in April for a downed pilot, there has been no deployment of US forces on Iranian territory during the war in the Middle East.
Gendered reward
"Courageous Iranian women who carry out such an act will receive double the reward," Hatami said.
