The Blood Donation Services of Limassol Hospital have asked anyone able to give blood to come forward, following a two-vehicle collision on Omonoias Avenue on Friday night. A 61-year-old woman is in serious condition in intensive care. According to a police announcement, two other people are also being treated in serious condition, but are out of danger.

In a social media post, the services called on everyone able to donate to visit the Limassol Blood Donation Centre by 3pm on Saturday.

A 61-year-old woman is in serious condition in intensive care after a two-vehicle collision on Omonoias Avenue in Limassol on Friday night. According to a police announcement, two other people are also being treated in serious condition, but are out of danger.
How the collision happened
The collision occurred at around 10.50pm.
A car driven by a 32-year-old man, with three passengers aged 20, 22 and 19, collided with a vehicle driven by the 61-year-old woman. A 62-year-old man was travelling as her passenger. The circumstances of the collision are under investigation.
Injuries
The 61-year-old woman was initially taken to Limassol General Hospital. Doctors found that, among other injuries, she had suffered a subarachnoid haemorrhage, a pneumothorax and a pelvic fracture. Because of the severity of her condition, she was intubated and transferred to a private hospital, where she is being treated in the intensive care unit.
The 62-year-old man suffered, among other injuries, fractures to a vertebra and to his ribs. The 20-year-old passenger sustained bleeding from an artery in the pelvis. Both are being treated in serious condition but are out of danger.
The 32-year-old driver and the two other passengers, aged 22 and 19, did not sustain serious injuries. They were kept in hospital as a precaution.
Limassol Traffic Police are continuing their investigations.
