The Pancyprian Coordinating Council for Volunteering has launched its 12th annual nationwide campaign to collect school supplies for children from vulnerable families, with the drive running from mid-June until September 2, 2026.
The campaign, titled “All Children With School Supplies”, invites members of the public, families, municipalities, communities, businesses, educational institutions, state and semi-state bodies, organisations, NGOs and other organised groups to contribute.
Donations may include supermarket or shop vouchers for school supplies, financial contributions, or items for children, either new or used but in very good condition. The council said the most needed items include school bags, pencil cases, notebooks, stationery, clothing, shoes, books, fairy tales, educational toys, desks, office chairs, bookcases and computers.
Support can also be offered in other ways, such as providing a collection point, volunteering time or staff, helping promote the campaign through social media or display screens, circulating campaign material to members, partners or clients, or offering services that can strengthen the effort.
Organisations and groups supporting financially vulnerable families are asked to complete a needs declaration form for the district where assistance is required. Individuals and families in need of help can contact the Volunteer Corps in their district.
The council said donations will be distributed by the District Coordinating Councils for Volunteering and local Volunteer Corps, based on needs submitted by voluntary organisations, NGO members and other bodies.
Financial contributions can be made to the council’s Eurobank Limited account, IBAN: CY48005001050001050113724403, under the account name PANG.SYNTON. SYMV. ETHELONTISMOU.
The council said the campaign has supported thousands of financially vulnerable families since 2015, under procedures designed to ensure transparency and sound administration. It added that the success of the initiative depends on the wider volunteering network and on acts of social responsibility from across society.
