“With feelings of respect, we bid farewell to our compatriot, journalist, activist and author Sevgül Uludağ,” the President of the Republic said in a written statement.
As Christodoulides noted, Sevgül Uludağ highlighted “with sensitivity and dedication the humanitarian tragedy of the missing persons of the Cyprus tragedy” and worked consistently in favour of peaceful coexistence between Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots.
The President also added that her contribution was linked to the vision of “a free homeland, without an occupying army”.
Concluding, he expressed his sincere condolences to her family and colleagues.
