Three people have been arrested in connection with a series of alleged offences against a 65-year-old man in the Larnaca district. The suspects are expected to appear before Larnaca District Court on Wednesday for remand proceedings.
Police are investigating suspected robbery, abduction, theft, assault causing actual bodily harm and other serious offences.
Victim allegedly assaulted and robbed
According to the complaint filed by the 65-year-old, he met three men in the Larnaca district on Monday. He reportedly knew two of them, aged 32 and 42.
During the meeting, the 42-year-old allegedly assaulted the man before taking €300, his mobile phone and the keys to his vehicle.
The three men then allegedly forced him into a car driven by the third suspect and took him to business premises he operates in a village in the Larnaca district.
Police said the suspects allegedly took the keys to another vehicle, loaded it with several items from the premises and left the area in an unknown direction.
Three suspects arrested
Court arrest warrants were issued against the 32-year-old and the 42-year-old as part of the investigation.
Following a coordinated operation by members of the Nicosia Criminal Investigation Department, the two men were located and arrested in the Nicosia district.
A third person found with them was subsequently identified as the other man referred to in the complainant’s statement and was also arrested.
The case is being investigated by Kofinou Police Station.
