Cyprus residents are being urged to retune their televisions ahead of the transition to the country's new digital TV platform.
The Department of Electronic Communications said the old and new networks will continue to operate in parallel until 10 October 2026, giving viewers time to ensure their equipment is compatible.
What viewers need to do
- Retune their television sets.
- Check whether HD channels can be received.
- If HD channels are not detected, verify whether the TV is compatible with the new platform.
- If necessary, purchase a compatible CE-marked decoder.
- Check antennas and cabling if reception problems persist.
Technical support
Viewers experiencing difficulties after retuning or installing a decoder can contact Hellas Sat on 22000737 for assistance.
Authorities noted that households already receiving the new platform's signal normally do not need to retune again.
Officials are encouraging the public to take the necessary steps as soon as possible to avoid disruption once the parallel transmission period ends.
