The Road Transport Department (RTD) has alerted consumers in Cyprus to four vehicles recalled across the European Union as dangerous products, following information received from the Consumer Protection Service.
The recalls were listed during the 36th week of 2026 on the EU’s Safety Gate rapid alert system for dangerous non-food products.
The affected vehicles are:
- Weinsberg XCursion (Pepper), CaraSuite, CaraHome, CaraCompact EDITION [PEPPER] and other motorhome models, manufactured between 7 July 2017 and 27 April 2026.
- Husqvarna motorcycles manufactured in 2022.
- Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class passenger cars manufactured between 29 August 2022 and 3 September 2025.
- Knaus L!VE I, VAN TI, L!VE WAVE, SKY TI, SUN TI, L!VE TI, SKY WAVE, L!VE TRAVELLER, Box Time and other motorhome models, manufactured between 23 May 2017 and 27 April 2026.
The RTD said all four vehicle categories have been linked to injuries.
Businesses urged to act on recalls
The department called on manufacturers, authorised representatives, distributors, importers and sellers — including those operating online or remotely — who may have supplied or currently supply any of the affected products in the Republic of Cyprus to notify the RTD.
If the products are available on the Cypriot market, the relevant economic operators are required to take all necessary measures to ensure they are recalled in accordance with the applicable legislation.
Consumers advised to check vehicle details
Consumers who own any of the affected cars or motorcycles are advised to contact the manufacturer, authorised representative or distributor for instructions.
The RTD said owners should check whether their vehicle is affected using its registration certificate and the information contained in it, including the relevant manufacturing range and model type or number.
Consumers who have purchased affected components are also advised, where appropriate, to stop using them and return them immediately to the point of purchase, where possible, while notifying the seller.
If a manufacturer, representative, distributor, importer or seller refuses to meet the consumer’s rights in relation to the recall, consumers are advised to submit a written complaint through the Consumer Protection Service’s website.
