Fotini Paschali, 67, from Anthoupolis, lost her life yesterday afternoon in a road collision in the area.
At around 18:45 the 67-year-old was driving her car on Sporadon Street when, under circumstances being examined, she lost control of the vehicle.
The car mounted the pavement and then crashed into a wall, where it came to a stop.
Police said the 67-year-old was not wearing a seat belt and became trapped in the wreckage.
The Fire Service had to intervene to free her. She was subsequently taken by ambulance to Nicosia General Hospital, where the doctor on duty pronounced her dead.
Nicosia Traffic Police are continuing their investigations.
