The agreement bringing French investment group Meridiam into the Great Sea Interconnector (GSI) as majority shareholder, with a stake of more than 50%, is due to be signed today at 4.30pm at the Maximos Mansion, in the presence of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
Under the current plan, the company will take charge of developing the Greece-Cyprus electricity interconnection project, according to an announcement from the prime minister's press office.
A tripartite agreement between Greece's Independent Power Transmission Operator (IPTO/ADMIE), GSI and Nexans is also due to be signed as part of the same process. The agreement covers the seabed survey work required for the implementation of the interconnection project.
