The Municipality of Larnaca has been awarded four Blue Flags at the 2026 nationwide Blue Flag awards ceremony, held on June 11 at Nissi Beach in Ayia Napa. The event was organised by the Municipality of Ayia Napa in cooperation with the national Blue Flag coordinator and CYMEPA.
The ceremony was held under the auspices of the Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment, Maria Panayiotou.
According to a statement by the municipality, the internationally recognised Blue Flag distinction is awarded to beaches and marinas that meet strict criteria in water quality, cleanliness, safety, organisation, environmental management and public information.
For 2026, a total of 56 beaches and two marinas across Cyprus received the award.
Larnaca secured four Blue Flags for Foinikoudes, Kastella, Mackenzie and Yanathes beaches, reaffirming its ongoing efforts to maintain high standards in coastal infrastructure and services.
