Cyprus Issues Yellow Heat Warning as Temperatures Set to Reach 41°C

The alert will be in force on Saturday afternoon, with highs of 32°C forecast in the highest mountain areas.

 

Cyprus is set to face another spell of extreme heat on Saturday, with the highest temperatures expected during the afternoon. Inland areas will bear the brunt of the heat, according to the Department of Meteorology.

When the warning is in force

The yellow warning for extreme maximum temperatures will apply from 14:00 until 16:30 on Saturday, 1 August.

Temperatures are forecast to reach around 41°C inland, while highs of approximately 32°C are expected in the highest mountain areas.

Advice to the public

The public is advised to take precautions, particularly during the hottest part of the day. People should avoid unnecessary exposure to the sun and ensure they remain adequately hydrated.
