The two countries have strengthened their dialogue, she underlined.

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has praised the “deep friendship” between Italy and Cyprus, following congratulations from President Nikos Christodoulides on her becoming the longest-serving Prime Minister in the history of the Italian Republic.

Responding to the President in a post on X, Meloni thanked him for his message and for recalling “the importance of the deep friendship between Italy and Cyprus.”

“In these years we have strengthened the dialogue between our Nations, working together for a more stable and secure Mediterranean and for a Europe capable of enhancing the strategic role of the Countries most exposed to the challenges of the region,” she said.

“I am particularly proud of this shared journey and of the collaboration we have built, certain that it will continue to grow and to produce important results for our peoples,” Meloni added.

“Thank you, Nikos!” she concluded.
