Donald Trump said he is considering whether to remove US Ambassador Kimberly Guilfoyle from her post in Athens following recent media reports.

US President Donald Trump has confirmed that he is considering the removal of Kimberly Guilfoyle, the US ambassador to Greece, amid reports that her position has come under pressure following a series of recent revelations.

Speaking to reporters at the White House on Monday, Trump acknowledged that the issue is under review.

"We're looking at it. We're not satisfied."

The remarks came after media reports suggested the administration was assessing Guilfoyle's future in the diplomatic post.

According to CNN, Trump is expected to make a decision on the former ambassador's future in the near term.

Position under scrutiny

Guilfoyle's position has reportedly been weakened by a series of articles published in recent days by The Wall Street Journal.

The reports have placed the former Fox News presenter under renewed scrutiny and sparked speculation about whether she will remain in her Athens posting.

Guilfoyle, who later became a prominent figure within Trump's MAGA (Make America Great Again) movement, was previously engaged to the president's eldest son, Donald Trump Jr.

Neither the White House nor the ambassador's office has publicly announced any final decision regarding her future.
