The Auditor General of the Republic, Andreas Antoniadis, informed Parliament today in a letter sent electronically that, based on the opinion he received from the Legal Service, he will not submit before the House Institutions Committee the names of the donors to the Social Support Fund as well as the contributions made from 2020 onwards.

As stated in the opinion, there is no legal basis for the disclosure of the requested information and responding to the request could expose the Social Support Fund to administrative sanctions.

The Legal Service opinion effectively blocks parliamentary oversight. As noted in the opinion, there is no legal basis for disclosing the requested information and responding to the request could expose the Social Support Fund to administrative sanctions.
