Turkish Cypriot leader Tufan Erhürman said he will convey the will of his 'people' for a solution to UN Secretary-General António Guterres, ahead of their meeting scheduled for the 11th of the month.
In a post on Facebook, Erhürman said it is important to have the opportunity to discuss developments in the Cyprus issue face to face with the UN chief.
“We will share with Guterres the will of our people for a solution, our views on what needs to be done to create a climate for a settlement, and our positions on the methodology that must be established to successfully complete the process this time,” the Turkish Cypriot leader said.
He added that progress would be pursued “not through manipulative efforts and media accusations, but within the framework of our people’s will for a solution, through diplomacy and dialogue, with patience, composure, determination and seriousness”.
