The National Council will convene at 10:00 on Monday morning under the chairmanship of the President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides. The session is expected to focus on the President’s recent contacts in Brussels and developments discussed during the European Council.
Briefing on Brussels meetings
According to Government Spokesperson Konstantinos Letymbiotis, President Christodoulides will inform party leaders about the outcome of his meetings in Brussels, where he participated in the European Council summit.
The President is also expected to brief the National Council on his meeting with United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres.
Contacts with EU institutions
During his visit to Brussels, President Christodoulides also held a meeting with President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen.
He further participated in the Tripartite Social Summit and conducted a series of additional high-level meetings with European officials.
