Cross Went Missing During Epiphany Ceremony in Limassol

Police found the thief of the wooden cross used for the Epiphany ceremony

The disappearance of the wooden cross used for today’s Epiphany ceremony in Limassol was under investigation, after it was reported missing during the traditional blessing of the waters.

According to police, the loss of the cross was discovered at the ceremony site for of the ritual plunge marking the Feast of Epiphany.

Following examinations by members of the Limassol CID, a suspect was identified and taken in for questioning. During the interrogation, the individual confessed that he had taken the Cross after diving into the sea during the Blessing of the Waters ceremony. Acting on his indications, the Cross was subsequently located and recovered.
