A 36‑year‑old employee of a company operating mobile speed cameras reported to police that he was assaulted at around 2.40am on Thursday while working on the Paphos-Limassol motorway near the Kouklia exit.

The employee said that while conducting a speed‑camera check using the company vehicle, another car pulled up next to him with three people inside whom he did not know.

One of the three asked to speak with him, and when the operator slightly lowered the driver’s window, the man allegedly sprayed a substance into his face. At the same time, the other two individuals reportedly struck the company vehicle, causing damage.

The 36‑year‑old drove away to report the incident to the police.

The Paphos Criminal Investigation Department is investigating the complaint.
