The police issued a warning to drivers on Tuesday to exercise caution on roads in mountainous and hilly areas this morning.
Slippery conditions are expected due to frost. Only vehicles with four-wheel drive and snow chains can use certain roads because of icy conditions and snowfall. These roads include Pedoulas-Prodromos, Prodromos-Lemythou, and Kakopetria-Pinewood-Pedoulas.

Several roads are affected by landslides. These include Kalopanayiotis-Moutoullas-Pedoulas, Kakopetria-Karvounas, Pedoulas-Kykkos-Kambos, Kykkos-Tsakkistra, and Kambos-Orkonda-Kato Pyrgos.
Roadworks in various areas may also affect traffic. Motorists are advised to follow traffic laws and road signs to avoid accidents.
On Tuesday, the weather will be mostly cloudy, with scattered rain and isolated thunderstorms, particularly in western, northern, and mountainous areas. Snowfall is expected in the highest mountains, occasionally heavy.
Winds will be moderate to strong from the northwest, 4-5 Beaufort, and in the southwest, west, and north, strong to very strong, 5-6 Beaufort. The sea will be rough to very rough in the west and north, and choppy to rough in the south and east.
Temperatures will reach about 12°C inland, 15°C on the coasts, and 2°C in the highest mountains, with local frost and fog. On Tuesday evening, the weather will be partly cloudy. Some rain is expected at first, mainly in the west and north.

Snow may fall briefly in high mountain areas. Winds will weaken gradually to generally light to moderate, 3-4 Beaufort, but in the west, north, and occasionally the eastern coast, winds will remain moderate to strong, 4-5 Beaufort.
The sea will become rough in the west and north and choppy in the south and east. Temperatures will drop to about 4°C inland, 8°C on the western and northern coasts, 6°C on the southern and eastern coasts, and minus 4°C in the highest mountains, with local frost and fog.

On Wednesday and Thursday, the weather will be mostly clear with occasional clouds. On Friday, it will be partly cloudy with isolated rain, mainly in mountainous areas. In the highest peaks of Troodos, sleet or snow is possible.
Temperatures are expected to rise gradually to average levels for this time of year. Snow on Chionistra currently measures 22 centimetres.
