Alarm over Dead Fish in Athalassa Lake – Four Departments Investigating Causes (VIDEO)

Authorities launch investigation after reports of dead fish in the lake’s water system.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment has ordered an immediate investigation following reports of dead fish found in the water system of Athalassa Lake.

In a statement, the ministry said instructions were immediately given to the competent departments to investigate and manage the incident.

According to the announcement, the case is already being thoroughly examined by the Departments of Water Development, Forests, Fisheries and Marine Research, and Environment, within the scope of their responsibilities, in order to determine the causes behind the phenomenon.

The ministry said the aim is both to identify the causes as quickly as possible and to contain the situation. A further update will be provided to the public once the investigation is completed.
