Police have proceeded with the arrest of two individuals in connection with an online fraud case, following a complaint by a company that reported financial losses amounting to €35,000.
According to a police statement, the director of a company based in Nicosia filed a complaint with the Nicosia Criminal Investigation Department in mid-July 2025, reporting that the company had fallen victim to online fraud, resulting in the loss of the above sum.
As part of the investigation, court warrants were initially secured against two individuals aged 20 and 22.
On January 1, 2026, the 20-year-old suspect was arrested and brought before the Nicosia District Court on the same day, where an eight-day remand order was issued.
On January 2, 2026, a court warrant was also issued against a third individual aged 21. The suspect was arrested yesterday and is expected to appear today before the Nicosia District Court for the purpose of issuing a remand order.
