39 Flights Cancelled at Larnaca Airport Amid Ongoing Middle East Crisis

Disruptions mainly affected routes to Israel, Lebanon, Qatar and other Middle Eastern destinations.

A total of 39 flights were cancelled on Tuesday at Larnaca Airport due to the continuing instability in the Middle East, affecting both arrivals and departures.

According to airport scheduling data, 16 arrivals and 13 departures operated by various airlines were cancelled. Most of the affected routes involved destinations in the Middle East, including Israel, Lebanon, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar. One of the cancelled routes also involved London Heathrow in the United Kingdom.

Passengers scheduled to travel are advised to contact their airline or travel agent directly in order to obtain the most up-to-date information regarding the status of their flights.

Hermes Airports update on connectivity

Hermes Airports stated on Monday that Cyprus’ air connectivity with Europe has largely been restored, as several flights that had been temporarily suspended due to the regional situation have resumed operations in recent days.

Flights operated by the Lufthansa Group airlines (Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, Edelweiss and Eurowings), as well as British Airways, easyJet and Transavia, have resumed services to and from the airports of Larnaca and Paphos.

Emirates has also resumed its daily Larnaca–Dubai route since Saturday.

According to the latest flight schedule for 9 March, a total of 102 flights were expected to operate at Larnaca Airport and 36 flights at Paphos Airport.
