Iran has described the conditions proposed by the United States to end the war in the Middle East as “excessive”, saying it is reviewing the proposal while insisting it will continue exercising its right to self-defence. According to reports from Press TV, Tehran stated that it will maintain its military response until specific conditions for a ceasefire are met.
Five conditions for ending the war
Iranian officials outlined five key conditions for ending the conflict.
These include:
- A complete halt to attacks and targeted killings by the opposing side, referring to the United States and Israel
- Concrete guarantees that Iran will not face war again in the future
- Clearly defined war reparations
- An end to conflicts across all fronts, including those involving resistance groups in the region
- International recognition and protection of Iran’s sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz
In the same statement, Tehran also sent a political message to Donald Trump, saying:
“We will not allow Trump to determine when the war ends. We will decide when the war ends.”
Warning from Iran’s parliament speaker
At the same time, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf warned Washington not to test Iran’s determination.
In a message posted on X, he said Iran is closely monitoring all US military movements in the region, particularly the deployment of additional forces in the Middle East.
“Do not test our determination to defend our country,” he wrote.
Missile launch claims toward US aircraft carrier
Meanwhile, the Iranian Navy announced that it had launched cruise missiles toward the direction of the US aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72), which is deployed in the Gulf.
According to the Iranian statement, the missiles forced the aircraft carrier to change its position.
Iranian Navy commander Admiral Shahram Irani said Iranian forces are continuously monitoring the carrier’s movements, warning that once the fleet enters the range of Iran’s missile systems it could become the target of “powerful strikes”.
