President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan launched a sharp attack on Israel and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, accusing Tel Aviv of deepening instability across the Middle East and undermining efforts to de-escalate tensions.
After a cabinet meeting in Ankara, Erdoğan said Israeli operations in Gaza, Lebanon and Syria underscore what he described as the country’s role in driving regional instability.
He argued that “by keeping Al-Aqsa Mosque closed, introducing the death penalty for Palestinian prisoners, and carrying out attacks in Lebanon and Syria, Israel confirms it feeds on tension.”
In particularly strong remarks, Erdoğan added that “those who today follow Hitler’s path act not only against humanity but also against their own people,” while calling on the international community to intervene.
He also warned of the risk of further escalation, noting that the conflict could spread to additional countries in the region.
At the same time, Erdoğan said Turkey aims to stay outside the growing regional instability, placing emphasis on strengthening its economy and shielding the country from external crises.
