The local health authority in Gaza said the Israeli army killed six Palestinians in two separate incidents in the enclave on Tuesday.

The Israel Defense Forces said they opened fire to remove what they described as a threat posed by suspects who approached Israeli forces in northern Gaza. According to the army, the suspects crossed a boundary marking an initial Israeli withdrawal under the U.S.-brokered ceasefire plan, thereby violating the agreement.

The UN Development Programme (UNDP) said that during its initial cleanup operations in Gaza it found at least three bodies and expects to discover more.
