A traffic accident occurred on the Nicosia-Limassol motorway, in the direction of Limassol, leaving two people taken to hospital.
What happened
According to a police statement, the left lane, near Moni, in the direction of Limassol, was initially closed following the accident, which occurred shortly before 11:00am. The lane was reopened to traffic around an hour later.
Police and fire service response
Members of the Police are at the scene providing assistance and directing traffic. The vehicle involved has been moved off the road, but the left lane remains closed for road-surface cleaning purposes. Members of the Fire Service were also called to the scene to assist.
Police are urging passing drivers to take care, advising them to drive at a safe, low speed and to keep a safe distance from vehicles ahead.
The injured
Two people who were travelling in the vehicle involved were taken to hospital for medical examination, as a precaution.
