The Permanent Criminal Court in Paphos on Tuesday sentenced a 44-year-old man to eight years in prison after finding him guilty of rape following a full trial.
The case was investigated by the Paphos Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
According to the complaint filed with police, the rape was committed on 21 March 2023 in the Paphos district, with a woman identified as the victim.
Following the completion of the police investigation, authorities filed the case before the Permanent Criminal Court in Paphos on 27 March 2023 for trial.
After examining the evidence collected by police and presented by the prosecution, the court found the 44-year-old defendant guilty and imposed an eight-year prison sentence.
