A 50-year-old Greek national serving a six-year prison sentence for drug-related offences has died at Nicosia General Hospital, where he had been receiving treatment for serious health issues for approximately the past two months.
According to authorities, the man died at 1.20am on Thursday.
The inmate had been serving a prison term at the Central Prisons for offences related to narcotics.
Police have been informed of the death and all prescribed procedures are being followed.
