The road leading to the exits of the Arrivals area at Larnaca Airport will reopen to private vehicles at 3pm on Friday, police announced.
The revised arrangements are intended to improve traffic flow around the airport, with private vehicles and taxis required to use separate areas when collecting passengers.
New arrangements for private vehicles and taxis
All private vehicles will be permitted to use the road leading to Arrivals to collect passengers. Taxis, however, will not be allowed to access the road.
Passengers using taxis will board them exclusively from designated areas west of the airport buildings, near the bus waiting areas.
Passengers arriving at the airport by taxi will continue to be dropped off via the road leading to Departures.
Police to monitor traffic
Police urged drivers to follow road signs and officers’ instructions, avoid unnecessary stopping or parking and use the designated car parks to ensure the safe and orderly movement of passengers.
Officers will be deployed in the area to manage traffic, assist the public and conduct checks to ensure compliance with the new arrangements.
