A 79-year-old man is in critical condition after being seriously injured in a road collision in Nicosia early on Saturday morning.
According to police, the collision occurred at around 12.30am on Niki Avenue, when the 79-year-old was driving his car under circumstances that are still being investigated.
His vehicle collided with a car driven by a 19-year-old man. Following the impact, the younger driver's vehicle struck a parked car and came to a stop, causing damage to the parked vehicle.
The 79-year-old sustained injuries in the collision and was taken by ambulance to Nicosia General Hospital.
He is currently intubated and receiving treatment in the hospital's Intensive Care Unit. His condition is considered critical by his treating doctors.
Nicosia Traffic Police are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision.
