Cypriot authorities were alerted on Friday morning following an incident at Larnaca Airport.
According to initial information, an airline asked passengers who had already boarded a scheduled flight to Italy to leave the aircraft so that checks could be conducted.
Police attended the scene. No further details have been released about the reason for the checks.
