Temperatures Set to Rise as Unsettled Weather Persists

Gradual warming expected through Monday, with isolated showers and storms mainly inland and in mountainous areas.

Seasonal low pressure is affecting the region, bringing periods of unsettled weather alongside a gradual rise in temperatures.

Today, intervals of locally increased cloud cover are expected, which around midday and early afternoon may lead to isolated showers and thunderstorms, mainly in mountainous areas and inland. Hail is also possible during storms.

Winds will be mainly south-westerly to north-westerly, light to moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort, and at times on southern coasts up to strong, reaching 4 to 5 Beaufort. The sea will be slight to a little rough. Temperatures will rise to around 34°C inland, 27°C on the western coast, about 31°C on the rest of the coasts, and 23°C in the higher mountains.

Tonight, periods of increased low cloud are expected, while patchy mist or fog may form locally. Winds will be mainly north-westerly to north-easterly, light at around 3 Beaufort, and the sea will be calm to slightly rough. Temperatures will fall to about 19°C inland, around 20°C on the coasts, and 14°C in the higher mountains.

Over the weekend and into Monday, locally increased cloud cover will continue to develop at intervals, bringing isolated showers or thunderstorms around midday and early afternoon, mainly in mountainous areas and inland.

Temperatures are expected to rise gradually over the three-day period, reaching levels above average for the season.
