The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow warning for extreme maximum temperatures tomorrow, Friday, 7 August.
The warning will come into effect at 1pm and last until 3pm. According to the forecast, the maximum temperature is expected to reach around 40 degrees Celsius in inland areas.

A seasonal low-pressure system is affecting the region.
Tonight, the weather will be mainly clear, though periods of locally increased low cloud are expected. Later, during the early morning hours, patchy fog or fog may form, mainly in the east and inland. Winds will be katabatic and weak, at three on the Beaufort scale, with the sea slightly rough at most. Temperatures will fall to 21 degrees inland, around 23 degrees on the coast, and 18 degrees in the higher mountains.
Tomorrow, the weather will be mainly clear, though locally increased cloud is expected over the mountains in the afternoon. Winds will blow mainly southwesterly to northwesterly, initially variable, weak to moderate, at three to four on the Beaufort scale, becoming strong on windward areas in the afternoon, at five on the Beaufort scale. Temperatures will rise to 40 degrees inland, around 31 degrees on the southwestern and western coasts, around 34 degrees on the remaining coastal areas, and 30 degrees in the higher mountains.
Tomorrow evening, the weather will be mainly clear. Winds will become katabatic and weak, at three on the Beaufort scale, with the sea calm to slightly rough.
On Saturday, Sunday and Monday, the weather will be mainly clear, though temporary increased cloud is expected over the mountains in the afternoons.
Temperatures will not change significantly, remaining above the seasonal average.
