The Nicosia Municipality is calling on young people aged 15 to 24 to design and implement their own climate initiatives through the Youth Climate Action Fund, with selected projects eligible for grants of up to €5,000.
The Nicosia Municipality is inviting young people aged 15 to 24 to design and implement their own climate actions through the Youth Climate Action Fund (YCAF) of Bloomberg Philanthropies.
Interested participants should form teams of at least three people and submit proposals addressing the needs of the city.
The proposals may concern mobilising citizens on climate issues, revitalising green spaces, new and sustainable means of transport, saving raw materials and promoting sustainability.
Each selected action may receive funding of between €1,000 and €5,000 to cover the necessary implementation costs.
The initiative aims to give young people a meaningful role, enabling them not only to express their views but also to design and implement solutions themselves that can contribute to a greener and more resilient Nicosia.
Young people who live, study or work within the municipal boundaries of Nicosia Municipality are eligible to participate. The actions must be implemented within the municipal boundaries, in cooperation with a school, university, organisation or another body that has legal personality and a bank account.
The deadline for submitting proposals is 23 October 2026.
